The Elephant Whisperers won the best documentary award at the 95th Academy Awards. Superstar Vijay Deverakonda wished the entire team of the documentary the best of luck in his congratulations.
Short documentary filmmaker Kartiki Gonsalves makes her directorial debut with The Elephant Whisperers in Tamil. The film explores the relationship between a couple and Raghu, an orphaned young elephant placed in their care. Guneet Monga produced it under the banner of Sikhya Productions, and it took home the 95th Academy Awards’ Best Documentary Short Film trophy.
Sharing the news about the win, Guneet Monga took to her social media and shared, “Tonight is historic as this is the first-ever Oscar for an Indian production. In his professional life, Vijay is closing up Shiva Nirvana’s written and directed film, Kushi. The film, which Mythri Cinema Makers made, also features Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
