A new milestone has been reached, SS Rajamouli’s film RRR won the Oscar for Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu, and superstar Chiranjeevi is undeniably in the driver’s seat.

The 95th Academy Awards saw the country shine brightly, and the upbeat performance of “Naatu Naatu” by singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava moved the crowd. Before the performance, actress Deepika Padukone introduced the group to the audience, and Lauren Gottlieb added some colour to the scene by dancing to the music.

Expressing his joy and excitement, actor Chiranjeevi Konidela tweeted, “#NaatuNaatu ON TOP OF THE WORLD!!! @RRRMovie @DVVmovies #Oscars95,” read the second tweet.

Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava sang the Telugu version of MM Keeravani’s original Naatu Naatu for RRR. Chandrabose wrote the song’s lyrics.

The cast of RRR includes Olivia Morris, NTR Jr., Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, and Alison Doody. It centres on the friendship and struggle of two fictionalised Indian rebels, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Rama Rao), against the British Raj.
