Soni Razdan recalls that before Student Of The Year, Alia Bhatt was planning to join drama school

In the Indian film industry, Alia Bhatt is ten years old. Along with two other “students,” Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra, she made her acting debut in the Student Of The Year film directed by Karan Johar. The actress has often proven her acting skills and is today one of the most bankable celebrities in the entertainment industry. When Alia Bhatt was in her late teens, she earned a part in Karan Johar’s college play. In a recent post honouring her daughter’s ten years in show business, her mother, Soni Razdan, discussed her daughter’s plans if she wasn’t chosen to portray Shanaya in Student Of The Year.

When Alia Bhatt reached the milestone of ten years in the film industry on October 19, her mother, Soni Razdan, shared on Instagram how her daughter entered the industry. When they least expected it and what their original plan for Alia Bhatt had been having not landed a role in Student Of The Year. Her message said, “Student Of The Year came out of nowhere for our baby @aliaabhatt and when we least expected it! At the time, Alia was busy working on her International Baccalaureate – a diploma I’m so glad she could do – and acting in a movie was a distant dream that we were not prepared for just yet. The plan was for Alia to attend a drama school and try to get a role in something! Thank you, @karanjohar, for auditioning her and giving her a chance to work on herself before finally casting our girl. So happy she got the opportunity to do this film and have you as her mentor, guide, best friend and second father. With immense gratitude and love, and huge congratulations and blessings always.” 

In April of this year, Alia Bhatt wed Ranbir Kapoor. She is currently pregnant and due in a few months. As of right present, the actress is not accepting any movie offers. With Gangubai Kathiawadi, she enjoyed success in the theatres, and later with Darlings, she enjoyed success digitally. The highest-grossing Hindi original of 2022 is Brahmastra, her most recent release. Her future films include Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, Heart of Stone, Brahmastra: Dev, and Jee Le Zaraa.
