Shreyas Talpade reveals his experience after surviving a near-fatal heart attack

Shreyas Talpade suffered a heart attack and underwent an angioplasty earlier this month, which led to his hospitalization. The actor disclosed that he was “clinically dead” for a few bit of time on that day in an interview with The Times of India when he talked openly for the first time about his health scare. He disclosed that there is a family history of heart-related issues.

Speaking with The Times of India, Shreyas revealed that he has been taking medication and precautions because he has a family history of heart ailments and has been experiencing extreme fatigue after work for the past few months. The actor continued by revealing what happened on December 14 when his wife Deepti took him to the hospital. He stated, “Suddenly, I felt breathless, and my left hand started paining. I could barely walk to my vanity van and change my clothes. I thought it was a muscle pull since we were shooting action sequences. You don’t think of the worst-case scenario, right? ‘I had never experienced this kind of fatigue.’ As soon as I got into the car, I felt I should head straight to the hospital, but I thought I should go home first. My wife, Deepti, saw me in that state and within 10 minutes, we were on our way to the hospital.” By the time Shreyas reached the hospital’s gate, he had suffered a heart attack, and his face had become numb.

Shreyas apologized to his wife for putting her through the ordeal after he came to. He went on to say how this event completely transformed how he perceives life.

He further added, “I was clinically dead for a couple of minutes… I was never hospitalized before in my life, not even for a fracture, so I didn’t see this coming. Don’t take your health for granted. Times are so uncertain that you must give extreme importance to your health. If that falls apart, nothing else matters. Jaan hai toh jahaan hai. An experience like this changes your perspective towards life.”
