Actor Janhvi Kapoor was admitted to the hospital after getting food poisoning on July 18. After a few days, she was discharged from the hospital. The star recently shared an update on her health, noting that this was the first time she was admitted. Her health issue was digestive immunity disorder.
Speaking to Times Now, Janhvi revealed that even before she started promoting her movie Mr and Mrs Mahi, she had been working nonstop and that her body was “exhausted.” She recorded three songs in a month without a break and was rehearsing the fourth. She travelled and went to events throughout that time. Janhvi remarked, “I haven’t really had a break.”
Janhvi travelled to Chennai for an event and ate something “funky” at the airport while her immunity was undermined. Janhvi stated, “Initially, we thought it was a stomach bug, but it really wasn’t because all of my blood parameters, when they took all of these tests, were all over the place. And after my stomach had settled, it was just body ache and weakness and shivering and shaking and all sorts of things.”
Janhvi’s tests for liver disease alarmed her doctors as well as her stomach. The actor shared, “My liver enzymes and my liver profile were way off, which gave doctors a lot of reason to panic.” Janhvi said, “So for three-four days, essentially, I was just at the hospital, and they were trying to figure out what was wrong with me and why my parameters were so off.”
Janhvi Kapoor shared that her health situation was ‘quite scary’. However, her primary concern was her dance and whether or not she ‘looked fit enough’ to perform it well. This determination in the face of adversity is something that her fans can rally behind and support.
The actor also related how she felt totally “handicapped and paralysed” at the Hyderabad airport just before she was set to board a flight. “Sleep, walk, or eat” was beyond her reach; she could not even use the restroom by herself.
Having experienced the health concern, Janhvi now knows that one should “listen” to and “respect” one’s body. The actor is back at work now, although she continues to feel “quite weak.” Her resilience and dedication to her work are truly commendable.
