Rachel Weisz will play OBGYN twins Beverly and Elliot Mantle in the eagerly awaited psychological thriller Dead Ringers, for which Prime Video revealed the release date.
Alice Birch, an Emmy-nominated playwright, is the limited series’s creator, author, and executive producer. On April 21, all six episodes will be exclusively available on Prime Video in more than 240 nations and territories.
Britne Oldford, Poppy Liu, Michael Chernus, Jennifer Ehle, and Emily Meade are among the cast members of the series.
Dead Ringers will star Rachel Weisz in the dual lead roles of Elliot and Beverly Mantle, twins who share everything: drugs, lovers, and an unrepentant desire to do whatever it takes—including pushing the limits of medical ethics—to challenge outmoded practices and put women’s health care in the spotlight. Dead Ringers is a contemporary retelling of David Cronenberg’s 1988 thriller starring Jeremy Irons.
The show’s directors are Sean Durkin, Karyn Kusama, Karena Evans, and Lauren Wolkstein.
Annapurna Television and Amazon Studios collaborated on the production of Dead Ringers. Along with Rachel Weisz, Stacy O’Neil, Sue Naegle, and Sean Durkin for Astral Projection, Alice Birch acts as the showrunner of the series and is also an executive producer. Ali Krug is the executive producer for Annapurna Television. As executive producers, Erica Kay, Anne Carey, and Polly Stokes are also involved. Executive producers for Morgan Creek were Barbara Wall, David Robinson, and James G. Robinson.
