Actress Madhoo Shah of Roja fame is making her online television debut in ZEE5’s original fantasy drama series, “Fireflies – Parth aur Jugnu.” She is playing the role of Nani in the programme and says she worked hard to develop her own interpretation of the character so that she doesn’t come out as stereotypical.
Meet Mukhi, Aekam Binjwe, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Luke Kenny, Akshat Singh, Zoya Afroz, Varun Kapoor, Harshit Bhojwani, Anaya Shivan, Riva Arora, Rahul Singh, and Hitesh Dave all play significant roles in the series, which is directed by national award-winning filmmaker Hemant Gaba and scripted by Alok Sharma.
While interacting with the media, we asked Madhoo about her character, and she said, “I had fun shooting the film. The character of Nani, which I am playing in the movie, is very special to me because she is giving the wise word to everyone, and I connected with the role a lot that through me, we are trying to teach our values and tradition system.”
“Plus, at this age, playing the role of Nani, creating her was challenging for me, but it was also fun. I didn’t want to fall into that old Nani routine character, I didn’t want my character to be cliché, so I worked on creating it differently,” added Madhoo.
The story of “Fireflies – Parth aur Jugnu” revolves around Parth, a homeless fourteen-year-old boy who meets Jugnu, a mythical child from the haunted forest of Bheem Mukteshwar, and the two of them set out on an action-packed adventure filled with self-discovery and bedtime tales.
A coming-of-age television series explores teenage companionship, adventure, mythology, and life lessons about good and evil. The show begins streaming on May 5.
