Heeramandi 2: Manisha Koirala gives a shooting update for the upcoming season of the web series

With Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi, Bollywood icon Manisha Koirala made a spectacular comeback, and fans were on the edge of their seats when the show’s second season was announced. The actress has now revealed that the filming for the highly anticipated sequel will kick off next year, sparking a wave of excitement among the audience.

Manisha Koirala recently gave an intriguing update on Heeramandi 2 in an interview with India Today, saying, “The shoot will begin next year. We are all waiting to be back.”

When asked if the success of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s series has opened doors for her to pursue other options, the actress replied with a knowing smile that while there are a few scripts under consideration, she can only share information until a project is finished.

Manisha also shared her journey with OTT, recalling the warnings she received before stepping into this space. She compared these warnings to the skepticism she faced in her early days in the movie industry. Her candid talk about how people often doubt and warn newcomers, only to celebrate their success later, is truly inspiring.

Thinking back on her own experience, she recalled how, thirty years ago, people thought the film industry was full of bad influences and negativity. She elaborated that these ‘bad influences’ referred to the prevalence of substance abuse and the ‘negativity’ was due to the cutthroat competition and the lack of a support system for newcomers. It was difficult for a ‘good family’s daughter’ to find her place in an environment like this because of the frequency of yellow journalism, which distorted the narrative.

Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Fardeen Khan, Sharmin Segal, Shekhar Suman, Taha Shah, and others form a diverse and outstanding ensemble cast of Heeramandi Season 1, ensuring that the series will cater to a wide range of audience preferences.
