Mrunal Thakur says she posted her teary-eyed picture to “normalize feeling vulnerable”

Actress Mrunal Thakur recently posted a teary-eyed picture and talked about taking each day as it comes on her Instagram Stories, where she revealed herself for the first time. Mrunal claimed in a recent interview that she felt “so relaxed” after posting that picture and said that one shouldn’t be “afraid of being vulnerable.” She said there is a “thin line” between needing help and feeling depressed.

Mrunal posted a picture of herself crying earlier this month on her Instagram Stories. She penned, “Yesterday was tough. But today, I’m stronger, wiser and happy! Everybody has pages in their stories they don’t read aloud, but I’m choosing to read mine aloud – because maybe someone out needs to learn the lesson I learnt.” She even said, “Taking one day at a time! It’s ok to be naive and vulnerable.”

Mrunal stated in an interview with the news agency PTI, “Sometimes you want to hear good things, you want that push from someone, and after putting that post out, I felt so relaxed. Most people have stopped being vulnerable. There are days when we feel low, sad, and under-confident, but that does not mean that a big word (depression) is to be used. There is a thin line between feeling low and seeking help. I am just saying don’t be afraid of being vulnerable; own it.”

Mrunal further stated, “In today’s world, especially with social media, everything looks nice, pretty and aspirational, but trust me, there is much hard work behind that. There are a lot of problems that the actor or the personality faces. So, that post was to normalize feeling vulnerable. Today, I have heard my inner voice in a world with so many voices around me, and I choose to listen to my inner voice. So I am really happy.”

The upcoming criminal thriller Gumrah, helmed by Vardhan Ketkar, will star Mrunal. The actress will play a police officer in the movie, a replica of the Tamil film Thadam from 2019. Aditya Roy Kapur also plays two roles in Gumraah.

Gumraah, a movie produced by Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios and T-Series Films, will debut in theatres on April 7. In addition, Mrunal has the Huma Qureshi-starring drama Pooja Meri Jaan, R Balki’s Lust Tales 2, the war drama Pippa and the Telugu family drama Nani 30.
