Alia Bhatt becomes a victim of Deepfake after Kajol, Katrina Kaif, and Rashmika Madanna’s viral videos

Many Bollywood celebrities have been duped by deepfake technology, which is fast growing to be a serious worry. Following Deepfake videos of Kajol, Katrina Kaif, and Rashmika Mandanna, which became viral a few weeks ago, netizens expressed their outrage. Now that her Deepfake video has appeared on social media, Alia Bhatt has become one of the Bollywood celebrities who have fallen victim to it.

A fake video claiming to be of Alia Bhatt is making the rounds on social media amid increasing concerns about Deepfakes. In the video, a lady with Alia Bhatt’s face transformed makes obscene gestures.

For those unaware, deepfake technologies can create artificial photos and videos and deliberately modify anyone in a picture or video they were never in. Deepfakes have raised worries about the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) because they can appear quite convincing.

Meanwhile, actress Rashmika Mandanna’s Deepfake video went viral on social media last month. She had written about how upset she was over it. She said, “Something like this is, honestly, extremely scary not only for me but also for each one of us who today is vulnerable to so much harm because of how technology is being misuse. Today, as a woman and an actor, I am thankful for my family, friends and well wishers who are my protection and support system. But if this happened to me when I was in school or college, I genuinely can’t imagine how could canter tackle this. We need to address this as a community and with urgency before more of us are affected by such identity theft.”

Rashmika received support from Amitabh Bachchan and Mrunal Thakur as well.
