Sulochana Latkar, a veteran actress, passed away yesterday following a prolonged age-related illness. She was 94 years old. The actress has appeared in more than 300 films throughout her career and was well-known for her roles in Hindi and Marathi movies. She also portrayed Amitabh Bachchan’s mother in many movies, including Majboor, Reshma Aur Shera, and Muqadddar Ka Sikander. In his most recent post, Amitabh Bachchan paid tribute to the late actress and stated he was staying in touch with her family to check on her health.
Amitabh Bachchan paid tribute to renowned actress Sulochana Latkar in his most recent blog entry. He stated that she had been feeling ill for some time and called her “gentle, generous, and caring.” Amitabh Bachchan penned, “We have lost another great of our Cinema World – Sulochana ji .. the gentle, generous, caring Mother that played in several films with me .. she had been ailing for some time .. and this afternoon she left for her heavenly abode ..”
He further wrote, “I had been monitoring her condition with her family .. but finally, the sad news! We can only pray in such unforgiving circumstances..”
Madhuri Dixit also posted on her Instagram account to express her sorrow at Sulochana Latkar’s passing.
The veteran actress suffered age-related health problems and breathing problems, according to Sulochana’s daughter Kanchan Ghanekar, who spoke to Indian Express. At the Shivaji Park crematorium, her cremation will occur at 5.30 today.
