The Drake team dismisses rumours that the musician was arrested in Sweden.

Despite what rumours on social media said, Drake was not detained in Sweden. Social media was buzzing with rumours that neighbourhood police had arrested the rapper at a nightclub in Stockholm. According to his staff, the rapper was in his hotel in the Swedish city, who later confirmed the rumours and told The Hollywood Reporter that there had been no arrest.

The rapper’s crew has confirmed that he was in Sweden, but they have not revealed why he was there. According to a series of Instagram photos, the Canadian rapper reportedly arrived in Sweden on Wednesday and visited the Ostermalm district neighbourhood of Stockholm and Ciccio’s restaurant. It’s unclear why rumours about his detention appeared on social media.

Drake’s seventh studio album, Honestly, Nevermind, was released last month and opened at the top of the Billboard 200. At the upcoming music festival in his hometown of Toronto, which officially begins later this month, the rapper is also planning to collaborate with acts like the Young Money reunion, which features Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj and performances from Lil Baby and Chris Brown.

Drake recently made essential news regarding his production contract when he posted the Amsterdam teaser, which features Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, John David Washington, and other actors. Drake also added on his Instagram post, “A lot of this happened. Amsterdam, a new film from David O. Russell, arrives in theatres in November 2022. Executive produced by myself and @futuretheprince @dreamcrew.” Taylor Swift also makes a brief appearance in the movie.
