Rhea Chakraborty was accused on Wednesday of purchasing drugs for her late actor boyfriend, Sushant Singh Rajput, months after she was released on bail in the drug case involving the late actor. According to sources, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) issued a charge sheet listing her and 34 other people as accused.
ANI confirmed the update. The tweet stated: “Draft charges submitted against Rhea Chakroborty in Special NDPS court of receiving deliveries of ganja from Samuel Miranda, Showik Charoborty & Dipesh Sawant & others and handing over those deliveries to late actor Sushant Singh Rajput while making payments for them in yr 2020.”
Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik Chakraborty has also been a suspect in the case. According to NDTV and the NCB, Rhea has been charged with purchasing some marijuana and supplying the funding needed. According to the NCB, Rhea got drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput in 2020, delivered them to him, and even paid for the delivery several times. Along with Rhea, Siddharth Pithani, the deceased actor’s flatmate, has also been listed as a suspect.
A special NDPS court has now received the draft charges from the NCB. According to the anti-narcotics agency’s proposal, the 35 suspects will be charged under various provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Rhea Chakraborty might spend more than ten years in prison if she is found guilty.
