The Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor film Stree 2 holds firm at the box even in its second week. Stree 2 continued to rise on its second Sunday, collecting Rs 40 crore; following a fantastic second Saturday, the movie saw a spike of over 88 percent and took in Rs 33.8 crore. Stree 2’s domestic collection is Rs 402 crore net and Rs 474 crore gross, while its global earnings are Rs 560 crore gross, according to data released by the filmmakers. They posted on social media that “Stree 2 continues its historic run by becoming the highest-grossing 2nd weekend ever for a Hindi film! Thank you, everyone, for making this journey blockbuster and unforgettable.” After 11 days after its release, the Amar Kaushik-directed movie has already risen to the second most-grossing movie of 2024.
The second Sunday’s collections for Stree 2 are similar to those of Prabhas and Deepika Padukone’s highly successful film Kalki 2898 AD, which earned Rs 44.35 crore. Even the highest-grossing movie of the last year, Jawan starring Shah Rukh Khan, brought in Rs 44.05 crore on its second Sunday. Kalki 2898 AD and Stree 2 fight for the year’s highest-grossing movie.
In the film, Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor reprise their iconic roles as they carry on the eerie tale of Chanderi. This time, Sarkata is a new danger to the town, and they look to Stree for help. The movie has other thrilling cameos, such as Varun Dhawan’s as Bhediya.
