On Gandhi Jayanti, Akshay Kumar delighted his fans by announcing his next project, Sky Force. After the success of OMG 2, the actor is getting ready to release his next film, Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue. Today, October 2, which also happens to be the day of birth of former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, during the tenure of which the movie is set, is the perfect day to make the announcement. The movie’s plot captures the bravery and patriotism displayed by the uniformed troops who were crucial in carrying out India’s first and deadliest air strike on Pakistan while defying every challenge. Akshay and the film’s makers shared the official news and release date on social media.
In addition to the official logo for the film, Akshay Kumar shared the announcement video on Instagram along with a clip from PM Lal Bahadur Shastri’s memorable speech from the time. The caption says, “Aaj Gandhi-Shastri Jayanti ke din saara desh keh raha hai- Jai Jawan, Jai Kisaan, ACJai Vigyan, Jai Anusandhaan. The project will receive a new energy boost as young actor Veer Pahariya is prepared to demonstrate his emerging talent in an important role. For the past two weeks, Akshay Kumar has been involved in the film’s shooting; he even celebrated his birthday on September 9 on the Lucknow set. Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur, two renowned actresses, are supposedly also featured in the film. Dinesh Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande produce Sky Force. It was directed together by Sandeep Kelwani and Abhishek Kapur, with creative production directed by Amar Kaushik. On October 2, 2024, the movie is scheduled to debut on theatre screens.
