Shahid Kapoor starrer upcoming film will release in theatres on April 14, 2022. The film was supposed to be released on December 31, 2021. However, it got postponed due to the rise in COVID cases – the Omicron variant. It also stars Mrunal Thakur as the female lead.
Shahid shared the film’s new release date on his Twitter handle with the caption, “So so happy to announce that our beloved film #Jersey will be releasing worldwide in theatres on the 14th of April 2022. See you in the theatres.”
Earlier, due to the rise in the Covid-19 case, Makers of Jersey decided to postpone its release date. Shahid has shared the statement on his Twitter regarding the same. It reads, “In view of the current circumstances and new Covid guidelines, we as a team feel it is prudent to postpone the release of Jersey. We will see you with our film as soon as we can in 2022. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy New Year.

Jersey is a heart-touching and emotional story of a cricketer named Arjun (Shahid Kapoor), who fails to achieve success in his career and fame in the field of cricket. However, he returns to cricket later to fulfil his son’s dreams and passion.
Shahid Kapoor was last seen in the movie Kabir Singh with Kiara Advani. Kabir Singh is a remake of the Telugu superhit film Arjun Reddy.
