The much-awaited trailer of actor Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming film Jersey has finally been released. The cricket-themed movie is a remake of a Telugu movie with the same name. It also stars Mrunal Thakur and Shahid’s father, Pankaj Kapur in important roles.
Mrunal Thakur shared the film’s trailer on her Twitter handle and captioned it, “Unleash the power of dreams for the ones you love! Here’s presenting the #JerseyTrailer.”
Jersey is a heart-touching and emotional story of a cricketer named Arjun (Shahid Kapoor). Who fails to achieve success in his career and fame in the field of cricket. However, he returned to the game of cricket later to fulfill his son’s dreams and passion.
The trailer of this movie shows a former cricketer Arjun who is cash nil and is completely dependent on his wife (Mrunal Thakur) for his financial needs. When his son (Kittu) requests him to buy a cricket jersey of Rs 500, Arjun tries a lot through different means and ways to buy a jersey for his kid but finds it difficult to arrange the amount to fulfill Kittu’s demand. This triggers Arjun’s inner conscience. He decides to restart his cricketing career, which can help him be independent and can allow him to keep his promise and fulfill his kid’s demand of buying a Jersey.
Produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill, Dil Raju, and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and co-produced by Bunny Vas. Jersey has been directed by the National Award-winning filmmaker Gowtam Tinnanuri, who has also directed the original Telugu film. The film will release in theatres on December 31, 2021.
