The Bridge, a new series from Endemol Shine India and Black Knight Films, will star Saif Ali Khan. The famous Danish/Swedish scripted series Bron-Broen will inspire the new TV show.
The official handle of Endemol Shine India dropped the confirmation of the project. It said, “Breaking News! Hit Nordic Drama #TheBridge from the @banijaygroup catalogue to be adapted by @endemolshineind and #SaifAliKhan’s @black_knight_films. The inimitable # SaifAliKhan will headline the Hindi adaptation! Stay tuned for more updates! @rishinegi24 @banijaygroup #comingsoon #saifalikhan #endemolshineindia #rishinegi #BlackKnightFilms #Banijaygroup #thriller #adaptation #bollywood.”
The first episode of the original series begins with the discovery of a corpse on a shared border between two nations. This discovery prompts a combined police investigation between the two territories, which pushes investigators from both sides to cooperate in uncovering the murder. The series has been translated into other languages due to its widespread success.
Khan will also play Martin in the Hindi version, a part Kim Bodnia initially played.
Khan’s opposite will be portrayed by an actor who has not yet been chosen. It’s also up for debate whether the Indian adaptation will occur between two Indian states or on the border between India and a neighbouring nation.
With Prabhas, Khan’s next project is Om Raut’s landmark film Adipurush, set for a June theatrical release.
