Priyanka Chopra cried when she was offered the vamp role in Aitraaz

The world adores Priyanka Chopra, who is a global icon. Priyanka has achieved a lot professionally, and it is evident that she is unstoppable. To succeed and get to where she is now, the actress had to struggle for it. According to rumours, she was also harshly treated by several producers and directors and received a lot of rejections. Her first film, Andaaz, was released in 2003, and it stars her alongside actors Akshay Kumar and Lara Dutta. According to a recent interview with Suneel Darshan, the movie’s producer, PeeCee, had to work on a few defects when they first met.

Suneel Darshan remembered his first meeting with Priyanka Chopra while speaking with Siddharth Kanan. He claimed that working with Priyanka was different because he had previously worked with actresses like Juhi Chawla, Meenakshi, Kareena Kapoor, and Karisma Kapoor.

The producer got her to sit down and tried to speak with her. And in the following 15 minutes, he was confident of two outcomes: either he would make a massive success out of this girl, or it would be a significant failure.

Suneel Darshan said, “PC for me was those eyes.. she had this dark complexion. There were a few defects that she needed to correct then. But she had the hunger and this mellifluous voice of hers. My god, it was gorgeous. My entire unit, my entire team, Raj Kanwar, Akshay and whoever was there would say ‘Oh Lara Dutta, Lara Dutta’. I said Lara Dutta is good, but the dark horse, the Rekha, is coming. And that is Priyanka Chopra,” he stated.

Speaking further about Aitraaz, Suneel disclosed that Priyanka Chopra was hesitant to play the negative role, and she even returned home and cried at being offered the role of a vamp. But he consistently stated to her that she was playing a good part.
