Amazon Prime Video India announced the release date of the Malayalam crime thriller, Bhramam on Oct 7 2021, in India. The film features Prithviraj Sukumaran and Mamta Mohandas in the lead along with Unni Mukundan, Raashi Khanna and Sudheer Karamana. Directed by Ravi K Chandran, who is also handling the cinematography of the film.
Bhramam is the Malayalam remake of the Hindi film Andhadhun, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte in lead roles. Amazon prime video India shared the news of Bhramam’s OTT release on Twitter. They shared the film’s poster along with the caption, “do you believe everything you see? watch #BhramamOnPrime, Oct 7, available in India only.”
The film’s plot revolves around a pianist who pretends to be blind, essayed by Prithviraj Sukumaran. His lie makes a lot of trouble for him. When everything goes as per his plan, his life takes a drastic turn as he gets embroiled in a murder mystery. The original film Andhadhun was inspired by a 2010 French short film L’Accordeur (The Piano Turner).
Ravi K Chandran directed the film, while AP International produced it. According to ANI report, the director claimed the film would be an entertainer. He said, “I am delighted to collaborate with Amazon Prime Video for Bhramam. Some unique elements of drama and humour have been weaved in Bhramam along with a heady punch of music that discerningly fits into the narrative.”
He further said, “I am happy that we have managed to push the envelope further in terms of cinematography and have brought our creative vision to life with such a nuanced storyline and hopefully, along with a talented team, we have been able to put together a film that will leave the audience thoroughly entertained.”
Prithviraj recently had another thriller, titled Cold Case, released on Amazon Prime Video. In the movie, he played a police officer investigating murder.
