Shilpa Shetty’s husband, Raj Kundra, was recently arrested by the Mumbai police in a case related to the alleged creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps. Ever since WhatsApp chats of Raj Kundra and his former PA, Umesh Kamat, have come forth. Kamat’s namesake, Marathi actor Umesh Kamat has found himself in an uncomfortable situation.
Certain media houses used photos of the actor while reporting about Kundra’s former PA’s involvement in the case. Furious about the incident, Umesh posted a clarification online and called out the media houses for ‘Irresponsible journalism’.
Taking to Instagram, he shared a lengthy note talking of this and slammed the media for falsely linking him with the case. He wrote, “Today, I went through a very outrageous experience of irresponsible journalism. In search of one Umesh Kamat alleged to be involved in the recent Raj Kundra case, my name was picked up recklessly out of nowhere and associated with the case without verifying facts. This irresponsible incident has led to mental agony and irreparable damage to my image. I shall pursue necessary legal remedies against the respective media agency -Umesh Kamat..” (Translated to English).
Those news channels and media houses must rectify the mistake and offer an apology, Umesh demanded, adding that he would pursue necessary legal action against them.
