Mallika Dua Pens An Emotional Note On Chinna Dua’s Death Anniversary

Actor-comedian Mallika Dua lost her mother Chinna Dua last year due to Covid-19 complications. On her death anniversary, Mallika pens an emotional note, hoping to see her again soon.

Daughter of later veteran journalist Vinod Dua, actor Mallika took to her social media profile, shared a picture with her mother, and wrote, “It’s been a year since the darkest day of our lives, yet somehow, we made it. My mama, I’m sorry I couldn’t save you, or maybe, your karmic debt was so small that you quickly and efficiently did more than your share of work here and left for a better place. @chinnadua, I do wish it was me instead of you that suffered, but I know you’d never let that happen.”

“The greatest truth of my life is that my mama was a divine being who chose us, and if that means that our best days are behind us and not ahead, I gratefully accept that because I was born to god herself. You left behind an army of friends and fans who remember you and us every day, and it’s so clear when you show up as filtered sunshine, bright butterflies and a gentle breeze. Those are the moments I live for. They are the only ones that matter. I hope I get to see you again; until then, be happy, keep singing with Papaji.”

“I cannot believe I don’t get to hug you, plant big kisses on your chubby cheeks, hold your tiny chubby hands, watch you catwalk into my room with your look of the day or just a platter of chocolate fudge, call you funny names like mummy aunty, have silly fights and even sillier laughing fits with you, show you off to the world. But I once had all of it, and I’m always grateful for that. My mama chose me. I’m okay with average hereon. I don’t like this date, but I will try each year to relive the love, not the trauma. Miss, you every second ma,” read the whole note.

Mallika Dua shot to fame with the viral video of Shit People Say: Sarojini Nagar Edition; she has also acted in movies such as Hindi Medium, Namaste England, Zero and Indoo Ki Jawani.
