Sidharth Malhotra, a Bollywood actor, will soon be seen in the action movie Yodha, and fans have been anxiously awaiting any update regarding the film. Following the success of Shershaah, the actor will reunite with Karan Johar for this project. The movie was initially planned to be released on December 15, 2023. However, the film’s release date has been preponed, and Karan Johar has set a new date. Meanwhile, Merry Christmas, starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, gets a new release date and will compete with Yodha at the box office.
Dharma Productions and Karan Johar revealed the new release date for Sidharth Malhotra’s Yodha on Tuesday. Yodha will be released on December 8, 2023, instead of the 15th. Dharma Productions posted the new release date, writing, “Ladies & gentlemen, get ready as the engine of #Yodha is all revved up & ready to make its touchdown in cinemas on December 8 2023! #KaranJohar @apoorvamehta18#ShashankKhaitan @SidMalhotra @DishPatani #RashiKhanna #SagarAmbre #PushkarOjha @PrimeVideoIN #MentorDiscipleFilms @TSeries.”
In the meantime, Taran Adarsh, a film trade analyst, took to Twitter for an update on Merry Christmas. He stated, “Katrina Kaif – Vijay Sethupathi: ‘Merry Christmas’ to arrive one week early… December 8 2023, is the new release date of #MerryChristmas, which teams #KatrinaKaif and #VijaySethupathi for the first time. #MerryChristmas – directed by #SriramRaghavan – is shot in two languages [#Hindi and #Tamil] with different supporting actors. Produced by #RameshTaurani, #JayaTaurani, #SanjayRoutray and #KewalGarg. #TipsFilms #MatchboxPictures.”
Yodha is a film helmed by Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha that takes place over the backdrop of an airplane hijacking. Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna also appear in the movie. Sidharth Malhotra and Karan Johar have previously collaborated in several films, like Student of the Year, Brothers, Hasee Toh Phasee, and SherShaah. Yodha is a collaborative project between Prime Video and Dharma Productions, together with Mentor Disciple Films. The producers are Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Shashank Khaitan.
In the meantime, Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi will share screen time for the first time in Sriram Raghavan’s highly awaited film Merry Christmas. Sanjay Kapoor, Pratima Kannan, Vinay Pathak and Tinnu Anand also star in the thriller.
Surprisingly, the films will now be released in between three major movies. Animal, directed by Ranbir Kapoor, will be released on December 1, followed by Dunki, by Shah Rukh Khan, and Salaar, directed by Prabhas arrives on December 22.
