Filmmaker Karan Johar’s Dharma Production has collaborated with production studio Viacom 18 to produce four Bollywood films of the year. These include Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, Jug Jugg Jeeyo, Shashank Khaitan’s next Mr. Lele, and Shakun Batra’s next film.
Taking Twitter, trade analyst Taran Adarsh informed about an update on Karan’s upcoming projects. He wrote, “BIGGG DEVELOPMENT… KARAN JOHAR – VIACOM18 JOIN HANDS FOR FOUR FILMS… #Viacom18 Studios and # KaranJohar’s #Dharma Productions partner for four films… #KaranJohar directorial #RockyAurRaniKiPremKahani [#Dharmendra, #JayaBachchan, #ShabanaAzmi, #RanveerSingh, #AliaBhatt]”
Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. Shabana Azmi, Jaya Bachchan, and Dharmendra will also be seen in essential roles in the film. Karan Johar is directing the film. Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani will release in 2022.
On the other hand, Raj Mehta directed Film Jug Jugg Jeeyo. The film stars Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani in lead roles. The romantic drama also stars Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor in pivotal roles, produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, and Apoorva Mehta.
The third film backed by Dharma Production and Viacom 18 is Shashank Khaitan’s next film, Mr. Lele. The film stars Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Kiara Advani in lead roles. Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan were the first choices for lead roles. The film’s cast was later revamped.
Shashank Batra’s next untitled film, Starring Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Ananya Panday will be seen in pivotal roles.
