Kajol has announced that she started shooting for her next film Salaam Venky, directed by veteran-actor filmmaker Revathy. The film was earlier titled “The Last Hurrah” was announced in October last year. Based on the true story, the project’s shooting has already kickstarted.
Kajol shared the news with photos from the film’s set on her Twitter handle. She posted her picture with Revathy holding a clapperboard, while in the next one, they are joined by their producers. The actress wrote, “Today we begin the journey of a story that needed to be told, a path that had to be taken and a life that had to be celebrated. We can’t wait to share this unbelievably true story of #SalaamVenky with you.”
Revathy has directed the films like My Friend, Phir Milenge, and the National Award-winning film Mitr. She was recently seen in Netflix’s anthology Navarasa; She also shared the same post.
Produced by Suuraj Sinngh, Shraddha Agrawal and Varsha Kukreja under the banner of Blive Productions and Take 23 Studios. The team has kickstarted the film’s first schedule in Lonavala. Salaam Venky is inspired by the unbelievably true story that revolves around an ideal mother.
Kajol made her digital debut with the Netflix film Tribhanga last year, along with Mithila Palkar and Tanvi Azmi.
