“Good Content Is Blurring The Lines Between North And South Cinema,” Says Mahat Raghavendra

After primarily working in the south, actor Mahat Raghavendra, who is making his Bollywood debut with Double XL, claims that audiences are interested in solid material and that the distinctions between north and south film are rapidly eroding.

To promote his upcoming first film Double XL, which also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Huma Qureshi, and Zaheer Iqbal in the critical parts, Mahat Raghavendra spoke with the media.

Addressing the raging debate of North and South cinema, actor Mahat said, “There was a separation for a long time, there were Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam or south movie or Hindi movies, now slowly things have changed, and everybody has started to look for good content, more than language. Because as far as Indian cinema is concerned, there are songs, emotions, tragedy, and drama. It is just the same for every movie. The content needs to be good”

“Look at Double XL, it is written by Mudassar Aziz, helmed by Sitaramman, and they have put a Tamil character in the film who talks in Hindi and Tamil, plus songs are in Tamil and Hindi, and that is exciting, I believe we’re one, that is all” added Mahat.

Adding about his debut in the film, Mahat said, “I’d never dreamt of being a part of the Bollywood industry, so let me start by saying I am grateful I am debuting here with two big stars and a good script. Nothing could be bigger than this. The film is putting out a good message to society. I am happy right now”

Bankrolled by Wakaoo Films Elemen3 Entertainment and The movie, produced by Reclining Seats Cinema Production and Wakaoo Films with funding from Elemen3 Entertainment and Satramm Ramani, will open in theatres on November 4th, 2022.
