Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh, who attended the FICCI Frames Fast Track 2022 convention, said he consciously chose light heart comedy drama for his forthcoming releases.
Ranveer Singh talked to the media during an interactive session at the FICCI Frames Fast Track 2022 convention.
We asked Ranveer Singh whether his forthcoming releases, Cirkus and Rocky Aur Rani Ke Prem Kahani, lighthearted comedy-drama, were a conscious choice, and he said, “It is a very personal thing. As an artist, my channels for empathy are open, for the most part, and therefore the time that we’ll be through, as people, that pain and suffering I felt very deeply, and I went through a lot myself personally as well. It was difficult to witness all of that, and as an entertainer, I would personally like to contribute towards offering that will make people laugh and make them smile. I feel times have been tough, so let’s make people laugh.”
“My next offering, Cirkus, is the next best thing. It will be out on Christmas. When you go and watch Rohit Shetty’s comedy, you know what you’re going for. People come to laugh and feel light and let’s have some fun. And that is the kind of cinema that I have consciously chosen. That justifies their time and money by coming there.”
“People make plans and spend a lot of hard-earned money to come and watch a movie in theatres, and I take that effort seriously. I am responsible for giving them something worth their time and money,” added Ranveer.
This year FICCI Frames has returned in its physical form in Mumbai following the COVID pandemic. As in previous years, the world’s media and entertainment industry will fully attend this event, with nearly 2000 delegates encompassing the entire sector.
Cirkus is helmed by Rohit Shetty, also starring Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Varun Sharma. It also features Deepika Padukone and Ajay Devgn in unique appearances.
Karan Johar directs Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The film also stars Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, and Alia Bhatt.
