Two legendary personalities-music composer AR Rahman and lyricist Gulzar are back with yet another soulful number, “Meri Pukaar Suno”. Seven eminent singers have come together to bring out a song touted as an anthem of hope and healing. It is a tribute to (Maati Maa) Mother Earth, written from her perspective.
The track, titled “Meri pukaar suno”, was released on Friday. The track, featuring the voices of Alka Yagnik, Shreya Ghoshal, KS Chithra, Sadhana Sargam, Shashaa Tirupati, Armaan Malik and Asees Kaur, is essentially a call from Maati Maa (Mother Earth) to her children to reunite and value the gift of life. To believe that despite the darkness & despair, there will be sunshine. Together, we will heal,” reads the song’s description.
The music video of “Meri Pukaar Suno” features all the singers dressed in white. At the same time, a group of kids is seen painting on canvas boards. The video ends with the frame of a mother, in the shape of India’s map, caressing a baby in her lap.
