Amul, the dairy brand known for its funny topicals, paid tribute to Alia Bhatt’s film Gangubai Kathiawadi. The film was released on February 25. Alia plays the titular role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial venture, and her performance garnered a lot of appreciation from critics and audiences.
Taking to Twitter, Amul posted a topical to celebrate the success of Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. They captioned the post, “The success of Bollywood’s new release, Gangubai Kathiawadi…”
In the poster, we see the animated version of Alia wearing a white sadi. She can be seen holding three slices of bread and, on the other hand, a knife with butter.
Alia Bhatt shared Amul’s post on her Instagram stories, and she wrote, “Oh! My! God!” with white hearts emojis.
Gangubai Kathiawadi is a crime drama adapted from one of the chapters of noted author Hussain Zaidi’s book, Mafia Queens of Mumbai’. It is Alia’s first film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and she plays the titular role. Gangubai was one of the most powerful and respected madams from Kamathipura during the 1960s.
Backed by Bhansali Productions and co-produced by Jayantilal Gada’s Pen India Limited. Apart from Alia, Gangubai Kathiawadi also stars Ajay Devgn, Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari and Seema pahwa.
