Akshay Kumar has announced a wrap-up for his upcoming film Raksha Bandhan, directed by Aanand L Rai. The film also stars Bhumi Pednekar in the lead role. Akshay penned an emotional note on social media to call it a wrap of the film, stating it was a “bittersweet” moment.
Akshay took Twitter to share the news. He posted a candid picture featuring himself and Aanand, sharing a hearty laugh. “Here’s to all I and @aanandlrai did throughout the shoot of #RakshaBandhan – laugh like there’s no tomorrow! Ironically, as we wrapped the film last night, there was a bittersweet tinge of sadness, off to the next. New day, new roller coaster,”.
In June, Raksha Bandhan had gone on floors, marks the second collaboration between Akshay and Rai after Atrangi Re. The film is about the bond between brother (Akshay Kumar) and sisters, essayed by Deepika Khanna, Sahejmeen Kaur, Sadia Khateeb, and Smrithi Srikanth.
Written by Himanshu Sharma and Kanika Dhillon. Raksha Bandhan is produced by Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions, Zee Studios, Alka Hiranandani in association with Cape Of Good Films.
Raksha Bandhan will release in theatres during Independence Day weekend on August 11, 2022.
