Her husband, Sanjay Singh Bhadli, remembers her last days
After fighting illness for more than three years, Nishi Singh, an actor who had roles in well-known TV shows like Qubool Hai, Hitler Didi, Ishqbaaaz, and Tenali Rama, passed away on September 18. Just two days after celebrating her 50th birthday, the actress passed away at around 3 pm owing to medical complications, according to her husband, Sanjay Singh Bhadli. She is survived by Sanjay and their two kids, a girl who is 18 and a son who is 21. The family is also struggling financially and has previously asked for financial help.
Her husband told the Times of India that Nishi’s condition deteriorated after her third paralysis stroke in May of this year. “After she suffered the second stroke on February 3 (a year after the first), she started showing signs of recovery. However, she suffered another one in May 2022, and her health started deteriorating. We admitted her to the hospital, and she was discharged later. Last few weeks, she found it difficult to eat because of a severe throat infection. She stopped eating solid food, and we could only feed her liquids. The biggest irony is that we celebrated her 50th birthday the day before yesterday (September 16). Though she couldn’t talk, she seemed very happy.”
He disclosed that their 18-year-old daughter had quit school and could not give her board examinations because she was helping him care for her mother. He could not work due to the increasing medical bills because he had to stay home and watch for Nishi. Also, from him, “A few of my friends and industry people like Ramesh Taurani, Gul Khan, Surbhi Chandna, and CINTAA helped us monetarily. However, I still had to sell my house and car in March to cover the expenses. Ab toh sab khatam ho gaya.”
On the television show Qubool Hai, which featured Surbhi Jyoti and Karan Singh Grover in the key roles, Nishi Singh was well-known for playing Haseena Bi.
