Digpal Lanjekar’s Pawankhind Trailer Is Out

Actor-director Digpal Lanjekar’s upcoming Marathi Film Pawankhind trailer is released on Thursday. It is as powerful as expected. The power-packed trailer will keep you on the edge of your seat. The film is about the life of an extraordinary warrior, the great ‘Baji Prabhu Deshpande’.

Sharing the film’s trailer on Twitter, Digpal Lanjekar wrote, “उपसून तलवार, कधी झेलून वार, त्या रात्री सहाशे वीर, झाले जीवावर उदार ! इतिहासातल्या अभूतपूर्व लढाईची झलक, सादर आहे #PawankhindTrailer हर हर महादेव #पावनखिंड_१८फेब्रुवारी .”

Pawankhind trailer depicts the historical story of Maratha leader (Baji Prabhu Deshpande’s valour) from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s army. You will see how Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj (Chinmay Mandlekar) was seiged on Panhala fort as it was captured and surrounded by Adilshahi general Siddi Jauhar (Sameer Dharmadhikari) from all sides. There was no escape for the Maratha King. Another Maratha leader tried to break the siege many times, but his attempts failed. Then Maharaj himself, with a few soldiers, sketched a plan to escape.

There is a lot of bloodshed and various battle scenes and fight sequences between Maratha soldiers and the Adilshahi forces in the trailer. The best scene is at the end, wherein you see the entry of severely injured yet fierce and robust Baji Prabhu Deshpande (Ajay Purkar); he comes in front with two swords in his hands, ready to attack Jauhar’s army. Purkar looks are totally justifying his character as the great Maratha warrior who gave his life for his king’s dream of swaraj, his people, and his motherland.

The Battle of Pawankhind took place on July 13 1660. The great ‘Baji Prabhu Deshpande’ fought to enable Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s escape from Panhala fort; he was the hero who sacrificed his life for his king.

Produced by Ajay-Aniruddha Arekar under the banner of Almonds Creations. Pawankhind is directed by Digpal Lanjekar, featuring Chinmay Mandlekar, Mrinal Kulkarni, Ruchi Mohan, Prajakta Mali, Ankit Mohan, Surabhi Bhave and Kshitee jog.

Pawankhind will release in theatres on February 18, 2022.
