But things take a terrible turn when their search for gold earns them the wrath of an apparent sorceress, Aarathi—whom Malavika Mohanan plays brilliantly in a few short glimpses. The rest of the film focuses on how Thangalaan must confront her with all his strength.
The movie’s makers reportedly had Rashmika Mandanna in mind for the lead role, but due to scheduling conflicts, Malavika landed the role. Additionally, the Vikram film was initially set to premiere on big screens on January 26, 2024, but was later postponed, providing a deeper understanding of the film’s journey to the audience.
In addition to the main cast, the film includes essential characters played by actors like Pasupathy, Hari Krishnan Anbudurai, Daniel Caltagirone, Vettai Muthukumar, Parvathy Thiruvothu, and many more. Additionally, GV Prakash Kumar composed the musical scores and tracks, marking his first collaboration with Pa Ranjith and third with Vikram.
