Kiran Rao started establishing herself as a director in Bollywood after helming Dhobi Ghat in 2011. She will now take on the director role once again for Laapataa Ladies. Fans are curious about the unveiling of the film’s fascinating poster. Notably, a revised release date for the movie has also been revealed.
This afternoon, Jio Studios unveiled the official poster for the movie on their Instagram account. Since the film is set in rural India, the poster features two women hiding their faces under veils and a man who appears to be travelling somewhere with a suitcase in his hand.
Interestingly, the movie’s filmmakers revealed a revised release date along with the poster; the original release date was January 5, 2024. Jio Studios released the poster and a statement announcing the delay in its release date: “Laapataa Ladies ki khoj abhi jaari hai! Milenge 1st March 2024 ko, aapke nazdiki cinema gharon mein.”
The film is directed by Kiran Rao, who also co-produced it alongside well-known actor Aamir Khan. Sneha Desai penned the dialogues. Interestingly, Laapataa Ladies recently became recognized worldwide after being screened at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
Regarding the storyline, Laapataa Ladies is a comedy-drama film starring Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Chhaya Kadam, and Ravi Kishan in significant roles. It tells the story of two young brides who are separated while travelling by train.
The movie’s teaser was unveiled on September 8, giving fans a glimpse of the story. It portrays the adventure unfolding on their journey and demonstrates how the wives’ husbands get to the police station to report them missing.
Fans praised the movie’s teaser and commented on how excited they are to watch it when it comes out in theatres.
