YRF (Yash Raj Films) has announced its first web series, The Railway Men. Starring R. Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyenndu Sharma and late actor Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan. The series is a tribute to the unsung heroes of the Bhopal gas tragedy.
YRF announced their new project on Twitter. They shared a motion poster of the upcoming web series on their official handle with the caption, “Courage. Grit. Resilience. Saluting #TheRailwayMen – the unsung heroes of 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy through @YRFEnt’s 1st OTT project being directed by @shivrawail Streaming – 02 December 2022.”
Directed by filmmaker Shiv Rawail. The Railway Men is a tribute to the railway workers at Bhopal station. They are the unsung heroes of the Bhopal gas tragedy in 1984, the world’s biggest industrial disaster. The makers have announced the project on the same day as the tragedy took place 37 years ago.
The Bhopal Gas Tragedy was a gas leak incident, happened in the late hours of December 2, 1984, at the Union Carbide India Limited (UCIL) pesticide plant in Bhopal. It is considered among the world’s worst industrial disasters. It has been reported that over half a million people were exposed to methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas.
The Railway Men will stream on December 2, 2022.
