Wildflower, a Matt Smukler-directed family comedy, has a trailer released by Momentum Pictures.
A coming-of-age movie that follows Bea from infancy till graduation as she negotiates life with neurodiverse parents and a large family that can’t seem to agree on how to assist her best.
The movie stars Erika Alexander, Samantha Hyde, Jean Smart, Jacki Weaver, Kiernan Shipka, Dash Mihok, Charlie Plummer, Alexandra Daddario, Brad Garrett, and Reid Scott.
Focusing on a young woman named Bea, Wildflower is a funny, big-hearted celebration of family in all its diversity (Kiernan Shipka). It is about maturing too quickly and taking time to appreciate one’s fortunate fortune.
Bea feels responsible for looking after her parents. Despite being a great student, she accepts a job performing pool maintenance and refuses the advice of her high school guidance counsellor to apply to universities that would require her to leave her home.
Jana Savage wrote the screenplay, and the movie’s release date is March 21st, 2023.
