The first-look poster for Maharaja, which stars Vijay Sethupathi as the main character, is out. For those who are unaware, Maharaja will be Vijay’s 50th movie. The actor slowly rose to stardom over the years, finally bringing him to his 50th picture after starring in many short films and playing uncredited roles in feature films. The film, which looks highly gruesome, will be directed by Nithilan.
One thing is quite evident from the image and Vijay Sethupathi’s appearance in it: the movie will be dirty and dark. Vijay is depicted in the poster as sitting in the police station, covered in blood, holding a sickle in his hand and not facing the camera. It conveys the impression that the protagonist has committed a serious crime. Additionally, it appears that Vijay Sethupathi’s character has had one of his ears chopped on the poster. Maharaja gives the impression that it is a very violent movie.
The first-look poster was released at a premiere event in Chennai on Sunday, August 10. Vijay Sethupathi spoke on stage during the launch event, discussing the movie in detail and became emotional. Maharaja also stars Anurag Kashyap in addition to Vijay Sethupathi.
