Actress Avneet Kaur, who will be making her Bollywood debut as the lead in Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s next romantic comedy Tiku Weds Sheru, also appears in the film. The much-anticipated movie’s trailer, backed by Kangana Ranaut, debuted on Wednesday.
Tiku and Sheru, two complete opposites who eventually get married, are featured in the trailer. For Tiku, getting married is a chance to move to Mumbai and pursue her major acting goal. Sheru, on the contrary, has struggled for years in the industry. The movie claims to offer a quirky love story while highlighting people’s life challenges and being full of amusing one-liners.
Kangana expressed her enthusiasm for the project on social media the day before the trailer was released. She announced the trailer’s release date by posting many selfies on Instagram. She shared the images and captioned them, “Very excited for the trailer launch tomorrow… Tiku weds Sheru on 23rd June. Only on @primevideoin.”
Tiku Weds Sheru is the first project that Kangana has produced through her production company, Manikarnika Films. Sai Kabir is the film’s director and writer, and it marks the first time Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur, who are 27 years apart in age, have worked together. Shiraz Khan Afghani, also known as Sheru, was the name given to Nawazuddin in the movie’s first posters. On the other side, Avneet will play Tasleem Khan, also known as Tiku, in the film.
