As always, Sridevi gives a terrific performance as the innocent, nervous Shashi who, after visiting New York, finally discovers her strength in life. In the Hindi adaptation of the movie, Amitabh Bachchan performed a cameo appearance; in the Tamil version, Ajith Kumar took his place.
