Vikrant Massey, last seen in the 2023 movie 12th Fail, posted a video about the upcoming film The Sabarmati Report. A new teaser from the movie, which also stars Ridhi Dogra and Raashii Khanna, shows Vikrant as Hindi journalist Samar Kumar, who is sitting in a studio and breaking the news about the Godhra train burning that took place on February 27, 2002.
The teaser concludes with a text that says, “27th February 2002. Godhra, Gujarat. A homage to the 59 innocent lives burned to death. 22 years, two official reports and multiple investigations later, The Sabarmati Report.”
Vikrant Massey shared the teaser on Instagram and captioned it, “Paying homage to the 59 innocent people who lost their lives in the Godhra train burning incident 22 years ago, today. Presenting The Sabarmati Report, in cinemas on 3rd May 2024.”
The makers of the Sabarmati Report made the official announcement on January 15. The real-life Sabarmati Express fire of 2002, which had a significant national impact, served as the basis for this thriller. With Vikrant Massey, in the starring role, the film is produced by Ekta Kapoor. Raashi Khanna, best known for her role in Farzi, makes her screen debut in a Hindi film as she appears with him for the first time. On May 3, 2024, the movie The Sabarmati Report will be released in theatres. The film’s leading actors are Vikrant Massey, Raashi Khanna, and Riddi Dogra. Ranjan Chandel is the director, and Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, Anshul Mohan and Amul V Mohan are co-producers.
For those who do not know, the Sabarmati Express was set ablaze on February 27, 2002, while it was leaving Gujarat’s Godhra station. This sad event served as the basis for the Sabarmati Report.
