With political parties calling the ban on The Kerala Story, the film has entered its 5th day of running successfully with 50 crores at the box office, the leading lady Adah Sharma of the film, pens a heartfelt note announcing the international release of the film.
The Kerala Story, helmed by Sudipto Sen and backed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, stars Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idnani. It focuses on the more than 32,000 women forced to convert to Islam in Kerala and describes how many of those targeted were then moved to Syria under the control of ISIS.
Sharing some working stills from the film, Adha Sharma wrote, “Thank you to all the crores of you who are going to watch our film, thank you for making it a trend, thank you for loving my performance. This weekend the 12th #TheKeralaStory releases internationally in 37 countries (or more) #adahsharma.”
Despite being banned in Tamilnadu and West Bengal, the filmmaker plans to extend the release zone. The film will now release in 37 counties and more.
The Kerala Story was released in Chennai despite a protest by the Tamil Nadu-based political organisation Naam Tamilar Katchi. At the Chennai Anna Nagar Arch, close to the Skywalk Mall in Chennai, actor-director Seeman instigated the demonstrations.
