Zoya Akhtar, the renowned Bollywood director, is teaming up with Netflix to create a cinematic adaptation of The Archies, the globally popular comic book. The eagerly anticipated movie will be out in December of this year. It will mark the acting debuts of several new faces, featuring Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda and others.
While you may be aware, the movie adaptation of The Archies was formally launched at the Tudum Festival, a global fan event organized by Netflix that took place in June of this year in Brazil. The highly awaited official teaser of Zoya Akhtar’s directorial debut was unveiled at the event, and it immediately won the hearts of film fans eager to see a unique cinematic experience.
Zoya Akhtar, the director of The Archies, just posted a new series of posters showcasing the actors on her official Instagram account. Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, and Khushi Kapoor, who play Veronica Lodge, Archie Andrews, and Betty Cooper on screen, are seen oozing big vintage vibes in the new posters, which provide a peek into the world created by filmmaker Zoya and her team. The posters show the star kids preparing to debut confidently in the upcoming Netflix film.
In the show’s new posters, the other four lead actors of The Archies likewise appear incredibly confident and promising. Aditi Saigal, also known as Dot, Vedang Raina, Mihir Ahuja, and Yuvraj Menda, who play Ethel Muggs, Reggie Mantle, Jughead Jones, and Dilton Doiley, respectively, have left viewers fascinated with the new series of posters.
The script for Zoya Akhtar’s film was written by the director herself, together with Reema Kagti and Ayesha Devitre Dhillon. Nikos Andritsakis is the cinematographer. The Archies, produced by Akhtar and Kagti under the banner of Tiger Baby Films, is set to be released on Netflix on December 7 this year.
