Taapsee Pannu starrer upcoming Film Rashmi Rocket’s trailer released, directed by Akarsh Khurana. In the movie, Taapsee plays an athlete from a small village whose life changes drastically after being asked to undergo a gender test. The film also stars Priyanshu Painyuli as Rashmi’s love interest, Abhishek Banerjee as a lawyer, and Supriya Pathak as her mother.
Zee5 shared the film’s trailer on their official Twitter handle, with the caption, “Rashmi ki ladai khud se nahi, iss system se hai! #RashmiRocket Rocket #TrailerOutNow Premieres October 15 Only on #ZEE5”.
The trailer showcases the story of a village girl who aspires to represent India at the world championship. She works on herself day and night to become an athlete. Her life turns upside down when she’s asked to undergo a gender test. She gets banned from the sport when her body type fails to fall under the conventional feminine style after being declared ‘not a woman.’ Abhishek Banerjee, who plays a lawyer in the film, also comes to her support and decides to file a case against the athletics association.
For her role in Rashmi Rocket, Taapsee Pannu underwent vigorous training and followed a strict diet. The actress actively shared some photos from her preparation session for the film on her Instagram handle.
Directed by Akarsh Khurana and co-produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Pranjal Khandhdiya, and Neha Anand. Rashmi Rocket will be releasing on Zee5 on October 15.
