The trailer of Mani Ratnam’s much-awaited Tamil anthology ‘Navarasa’ was released on Tuesday. The web series is all set to premiere on Netflix on August 6. The trailer of the web series gave a glimpse to the audience into nine different stories of nine characters.
Navarasa anthology is based on nine stories of nine rasas or human emotions- anger, compassion, courage, disgust, fear, laughter, love, peace and wonder. The series stars an ensemble cast of Suriya, Vijay Sethupathi, Siddarth, Ashok Selvan, Naga Shaurya, Arvind Swami and many more. Sharing the trailer on Twitter, ‘Netflix India South’ wrote, “9 Stories, 9 Emotions and one incredible journey. #NavarasaOnNetflix.
Navarasa is a charity project, which was conceived by directors Mani Ratnam and Jayendra Panchapakesan. The veteran filmmakers have put together a team of directors, actors and technicians who agreed to do the project for free. The earnings from this will be used to support film workers in Tamil cinema who have been impacted during the Covid-19 induced lockdown.
The nine short stories in Netflix’s Navarasa are directed by Bejoy Nambiar, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Karthik Subbaraj, Karthick Naren, KV Anand, Ponram, Rathindran Prasad, Halitha Shameem and Arvind Swamy. The Bombay actor is making his directorial debut with Navarasa’s anthology.
