Spider-Man: No Way Home, in its third weekend at the Indian box office, has crossed the ₹200 crore mark. The film is emerged as the third Marvel film to accomplish this landmark. Despite the spike in Covid-19 cases and competition from films like 83 and Pushpa: The Rise, it has achieved this feat. Starring Tom Holland as a Spider-Man, the film was released in theatres on December 16.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the film’s box office figures on Twitter. He wrote, “#SpiderMan hits ₹200 cr… Restrictions + #PushpaHindi [mass circuits] + #83TheFilm [metros] are speed breakers, but #NewYear holidays + open week prove advantageous in Weekend 3… [Week 3] Fri 3 cr, Sat 4.92 cr, Sun 4.75 cr. Taran Adarsh also shared that Spider-Man No Way Home is the third Hollywood film, which crossed the 200 Cr. mark in Indian box office. He tweeted, “TOP 3 HOLLYWOOD FILMS IN INDIA… [2019] #AvengersEndgame: ₹ 367.43 cr, [2018] #AvengersInfintyWar: ₹ 228.50 cr, [2021] #SpiderMan: #NoWayHome: ₹ 202.34, Coincidentally, THE TOP 3 are #Marvel films. Marvel Studios fans were eagerly waiting for the release. Once it hit theatres, it did not disappoint to deliver. The sheer anticipation of scenes and action depicted in the film were beyond expectation. Audiences regaled as the excitement of watching a movie in theatres came to life after some relaxation from the government to allow 50% capacity of cine-goers to cinema halls.
Made under the banner of Sony Pictures Entertainment, Spider-Man No Way Home also stars Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Benedict Cumberbatch and Jamie Foxx. It is Tom Holland’s third film as a Spider-Man.
