Sony Pictures Films India (SPFI) on Saturday announced its foray into Tamil cinema. SPFI collaborated with Kamal Hassan for an untitled Tamil movie, starring Sivakarthikeyan in the leading role, best known for films like ‘Marina,’ ‘Remo’ and ‘Namma Veettu Pillai.’
Taking to Twitter, Sony Pictures Films India shared the news about the collaboration with Kamal Hassan on their official handle. They wrote, “It is the dawn of a new era. Sony Pictures Films India (SPFI) is proud to collaborate with legendary actor Kamal Haasan for an untitled Tamil movie that will have Sivakarthikeyan in the leading role. The film will be produced by SPFI, Raaj Kamal Films International and R. Mahendran, and will be written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy.”
Produced by SPFI, Kamal Haasan’s banner Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI) and R. Mahendran and co-produced by God Bless Entertainment. Production #51 is written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy.
As per the ANI report, speaking about the film, Kamal Hassan said, “The power of a well-told story is transformative, and this story will move, uplift and inspire the audience in many ways. I am very proud to be collaborating with Sony Pictures Films India, actor Sivakarthikeyan and director Rajkumar Periasamy to bring this compelling story to the big screen.”
The makers of the film have not yet shared any details about the movie. They will update more information soon.
