Netflix India released the teaser for the new web series Heeramandi, helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Netflix published a brief video on Instagram displaying the main characters. With Heeramandi, Sanjay Leela Bhansali makes his web series debut.
The actors Manisha Koirala, Sharmin Segal, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sonakshi Sinha and Sanjeeda Shaikh are glimpsed in the video. The performers are seated near one another and are all wearing mustard-coloured apparel. Sonakshi was the only one to stand, and she bowed to the camera while doing a salaam.
The caption for the video was, “Another time, another era, another magical world created by Sanjay Leela Bhansali we can’t wait to be a part of. Here is a glimpse into the beautiful and intriguing world of #Heeramandi. Coming soon!” In response to the video, a user said, “Whoaa, excited.” Another fan commented, “This is going to be (emojis of fire). Can’t wait to watch it.”
Another video clip from Netflix featuring the characters wearing all-black attire was also shared. Its post’s caption says, “Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s grandeur combined with their awe-inspiring talent and elegance. Tell us a more iconic duo; we’ll wait! #Heeramandi coming soon only on Netflix!”
The web series will explore courtesan tales and the hidden cultural realities of Heeramandi, a glitzy district, during pre-independence India, according to news agency ANI. Bhansali’s signature larger-than-life sets, multifaceted characters, and soulful music are expected in this series.
“Heeramandi is an important milestone in my journey as a filmmaker. This is an epic, first-of-its-kind series based on the courtesans of Lahore. It is an ambitious, grand and all-encompassing series; therefore, I am nervous yet excited about making it.
