Shaakuntalam featuring Samantha Ruth Prabhu is postponed again; the makers have posted a statement

Shaakuntalam, the eagerly awaited mythological film starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, has been postponed again. Yes, the movie was slated to hit theatres on February 17. Shaakuntalam has been postponed, according to a statement from the makers, and a fresh release date will be revealed very soon.

The movie’s creators posted on Twitter that Shaakuntalam won’t be released on February 17 in a statement. The message stated, “WE REGRET TO INFORM OUR BELOVED AUDIENCE THAT WE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO RELEASE SHAAKUNTALAM THIS 17TH OF FEBRUARY. WE WILL BE ANNOUNCING THE RELEASE DATE SOON. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT AND LOVE.” The caption for this post stated, “The theatrical release of #Shaakuntalam stands postponed, and the new release date will be announced soon.”

The much-awaited film, helmed by Gunasekar, has become more popular due to its official trailer and two singles. The lyric video for Yelelo Yelelo, the third single from Shaakuntalam, was made available on Thursday. The actress Samantha portrays the pregnant woman in the track, and the music attempts to express her various emotions. The movie’s music was composed by Mani Sharma and sung by Anurag Kulkarni.

Last month, the Shaakuntalam trailer was revealed, and audiences’ reactions to it were mixed. A visual delight is the Shaakuntalam trailer. Princess Shakuntala, the daughter of Menaka and Vishwamitra, introduces Samantha as the first abandoned kid in human history. In the movie, Shakuntala battles for her love and deals with the consequences of that battle.

Shaakuntalam, conceptualized and helmed by Gunasekhar and supported by the production company Gunaa Teamworks, was originally scheduled to release in theatres on February 17 of this year. The legendary play Abhijnanashakuntalam, penned by poet Kalidasa, served as the inspiration for the film Shaakuntalam. The upcoming drama will also have essential performances by Sachin Khedekar, Mohan Babu, Gautami, Ananya Nagalla, Aditi Balan and Varshini Sounderajan, among others. Additionally, Allu Arha, the daughter of Allu Arjun, makes her cinematic debut.
