Netflix released the trailer of the much-awaited film Meenakshi Sundareshwar, Starring Sanya Malhotra and Abhimanyu Dassani. The romantic drama is based on a newly married couple forced into a ‘long distance relationship’. Produced by Karan Johar.
Karan Johar shared the film’s trailer on his Twitter, and he captioned it, “All ‘hearts’ on deck – it’s time to root for this power couple to make it through the distance! This Diwali, gather around to watch #MeenakshiSundareshwar coming to Netflix on November 5.”
The trailer tells the story of a newlywed couple who struggle with a long-distance marriage in the movie. Abhimanyu went for a job in Bengaluru, while Sanya stayed back in Madurai with her in-laws. The trailer then narrates the journey of the relationship as they learn to adjust to long-distance married. It also gives a glimpse of the couple’s insecurities, bickering, flaws, and dissimilarities. The film is set against the Tamil culture.
Directed by Vivek Soni and produced under Karan Johar’s banner Dharmatic Entertainment. Vivek Soni co-wrote the film. Meenakshi Sundareshwar will release on Netflix on November 5.
On the work front, Sanya has featured in two Netflix films, Pagglait this year and Ludo last year. She also appeared in the movie Shakuntala Devi, starring Vidya Balan in the lead role. Abhimanyu Dassani made his Bollywood debut with Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, directed by Vasan Bala.
