Actor Anupam Shyam passed away at 63 in Mumbai. He suffered multiple organ failures, which deteriorated his condition. He was admitted to Lifeline hospital in suburban Goregaon four days ago. Earlier, he was in the critical care unit of a city hospital in Mumbai due to a kidney infection about a week ago.
Yashpal Sharma, who had worked with Shyam in Bollywood movies like ‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi’ and ‘Lagaan’, had told ANI, “I got to know that he’s no more. So we rushed here and found he was still breathing. The doctor later declared him dead. He was hospitalised for four days. He had high blood sugar and used to take injections during the shooting of his last film.”
In his nearly three-decade-long career, Shyam featured in films like “Slumdog Millionaire”, “Bandit Queen”, “Satya”, “Dil Se”, “Lagaan”, “Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi” and he started his television career with Benegal’s Amaravathi ki Kathaye, his best work was the TV show “Mann Kee Awaaz: Pratigya” which aired in 2009 on Star Plus. He had recently resumed shooting for season 2 of his show “Mann Ki Awaaz: Pratigya”.
